Can we build it?

My son has been singing Bob the Builder’s song, “Can we build it? Can we fix it?” over and over again the whole weekend...

Well, it’s a bittersweet coincidence. While playing, Pedro has been answering the question my husband and I have been asking ourselves since Chile was wracked by the most horrible and literal nightmare: an 8.8 magnitude earthquake. That Friday night we felt helpless and lost. Once again, Chile faced the unexpected, and has been suffering serious human, material and moral damage. It took us a few days until we heard Pedro’s message… but finally we got it! “Can we build it? Can we fix it?” YES WE CAN!!!

There is an amazing organization in Chile created with one major purpose: to help build and rebuild the houses and the dignity of poor people. “Un Techo para Chile” seeks to eradicate both poverty and the camps where people live in a way no one should have to live.

Recently “Un Techo para Chile” was redirecting all of their energy and resources towards Haiti, and believe me, this is the kind of people you want to have around. Good good good people.

Being here is not easy while knowing all your loved ones are having a hard time; being here is even harder when you see the images of your destroyed country. That’s why my family and I ask for your help once again.

How? Let’s put together some money for “Un Techo para Chile”. Three easy ways:

- Make a direct donation through this Bank Account.

- Come visit me and make a donation on Saturday at the Farmer’s Market.

I ask you one more time to ignore the economic crisis and donate to this cause. It is critical to contribute. Good and hard worker hands will get our donations, and good things will come after that. They are already working tireless

Help us, help them, help the people from Chile. Please!

Thanks so much,

Maite and family
